A website is a serious investment and when you invest you want to ensure that your business gets results, so having the best website designer in Doncaster look after your website is important.
If you are a local business in Doncaster, then designing the right website that attracts new clients and encourages them to do business with you is vital to the success of your business. If you are looking for a new website and are looking for a Doncaster website designer to create this for you then here are some of the questions you should be asking.
Will I own the website?
It’s very important that you find this out before you begin any project with any web designer. With some cheaper packages you will find you are stuck with that company forever and a day. The system they use is not transferable so if you ever wanted to move the website to another provider or were not happy with the design or service you will be stuck and cannot move. This means you will have to start the whole website design process again. Not good!
Ideally you want to ensure that your new website is built in a platform like WordPress that you will be able to move at any point if you should so wish.
Will the new website be found on Google?
Everyone wants to be found on Google but it’s easier said than done. At the end of the day no one can guarantee you first place on Google. If they do they lie (unless they are Google).
What you do need to know is what SEO will be included with your new website. Then depending on your requirements, you may need to look at extra work or an ongoing SEO agreement. What you will pay depends on how much work will be required and how much competition there is in your industry.
All our websites include basic SEO and then depending on your requirements more detailed SEO can be done as we design your website or over coming months.
Is a new website expensive?
This can be like asking how long is a piece of string? It really does depend on your requirements. Some website developers will be cheaper than others but like most things in life, you pay for what you get.
Our website design process takes a certain period of time and requires lots of planning and development. We create your website exactly as you require based on your needs. Each website we create goes through our in-depth point check system to ensure that your website is going to work for you. It must get results.
In terms of payment, you also always need to check the terms. We split ours into two. The first is a 50% deposit and then the second 50% is taken as the new website goes live.
How long will the new website take to design?
You need to know when you can expect your new website to go live. Getting a website live is a two-way agreement. It is about your website designer doing their work but also you as the client supplying the text and images.
Generally, it takes us between 4-10 weeks for the whole process.
Are there any extra costs?
It's important you know how much you are paying for the website and will there be any extra costs?
One fee you will have to pay each year is the hosting charges. This is like renting your own space on the internet. Do ensure you find out how much this cost will be and what it covers. Some packages only cover the bare minimum, and this might not be enough for you. Our hosting packages start from £80 per year and you can see them here.
Can the website be updated my me?
Do you want to be able to update the website yourself? This is an important question to ask before you kick off.
We generally like to offer the ability for our clients to update the website themselves if they so wish. Most of our website are created in WordPress so you can add edit and delete content yourself. If you don’t wish to touch the website, then we can arrange a maintenance package to suit your needs. You can see these here.
Who writes the text?
Normally you would write the text for your website and then provide it to the website designer.
We are happy to write the text for you and charge a separate fee for this.
Will my website work on mobile and tablets?
Your website must be fully responsive and work as it should on all devices. This is an absolute must with more than 70% of people viewing websites on their mobile phones. Imagine having a website where more than 70% of people cannot view it easily.
All the websites that we design are fully responsive. We don’t charge any extra for this.
