Your Website Needs To Maximise These 3 Things

April 13, 2017 / Justin Widdop

Are you not getting the results you expected from your website design? Having a website that is working for you has never been more important than it is now; it’s your window to the world so getting it right is vital for your organisation.

If your website is not breaking any records then ask yourself is it maximising in these 3 areas.

  1. The Design

There is no getting away from it, your website needs to look good. Does your website dessign make a big enough impact on its visitors?

We all know that looks aren’t everything but they do count and you need to have a website design that you are proud of. You are the biggest advocate of your brand so if you don’t have a website that you can shout about then it’s time to do something about it.

If you are going to have a website then have one that impresses. The design of your website won’t be the one central thing that gets all your visitors to do business with you but it will make a difference.

Ensure your website design is clean, uncluttered, utilises eye-catching imagery and makes an impact!

  2. The Marketing Factor

A website should be one of your most powerful marketing tools. It’s so much more than an online information point!

It’s not enough for someone to just like the design of your website but you actually want them to engage with you. The more you can get people to engage with you the more chance you have of them doing business with you and that is what we are all after.

Ask yourself, what do you want the visitors to your website to do when they are on your site. Is it contact you for a quote, subscribe to your newsletter, download a free EBook, watch a video – which is it?

Be clear on what you want your visitors to do and make it easy for them to do so. Don’t be shy in positioning call to actions across your website. Don’t just have them appear once on your homepage but have them right across your website. Also, don’t have too many different CTA’s, decide what your one or two priorities are, focus on these and get them strategically placed across your website.

  3. The Navigation

Finally, visitors to your website want to be able to move around without too much hassle. Too many websites make this hard work.

One fatal mistake that many websites make is to clutter them. People think that the more information you get on there then the more impact this will make and it’s just not true. If you try to communicate anything and everything it can be worse than saying nothing at all. Ensure people can find the information they require and do so easily without being bombarded with too much information. Keep your website simple and clean but impressive.

If your website is ecommerce then ensure people can find all your products easily. Also, don’t hide away your most popular products. The amount of websites that we see that are not featuring their most popular products in prominent places would amaze you. If you know that a good percentage of visitors to the website will be interested in certain products then feature them and make them super easy to find.

People don’t want to spend their time trying to find what they want; they want to find it quickly and be able to make a smooth purchase. Word hard on getting your website navigation right.
